  • Second stay even better!

    • Guest Dan (Fort Saskatchewan Alberta)

We, Hubby,Wife and 3 teen girls aged 14,17,17 returned to Cayman Kai November 7th-21st for our family vacation with the mindset that if we loved it the first time why mess with a great thing by staying somewhere else. This time bringing a family friend. The location on the Quiet side of the Island is just what most are searching for! The Island home has everything a family of all ages needs to have a perfect vacation. We really enjoyed the bio-luminescence a few days after the full moon. It was so incredible that the fish of all sizes in the cove were lit up as they swam by the kayaks supplied by Dream Kai! Other near by things we enjoyed were Starfish point and walking over and snorkeling off Rum Point seeing stingrays, turtles and many incredible fish. The Island home description and pictures are very accurate. Thank you Nigel and Jayne for being helpful and opening your Island house up for others to enjoy. We sure hope to be back in the not to distant future!

    Experience of a Lifetime!!!!

    • Guest Island Life (Virginia Beach)

Our trip was during off season (August) and I would definitely return during off season. The Island was not crowded at all! I highly recommend the boat ride out to stingray city and snorkeling at the corral reef! Swimming with and amongst wild stingrays is amazing! I also recommend dining at the Lighthouse restaurant, and request to eat on the dock at night. You can watch the sun set and the moon rise over a 5 star meal! Our stay in Dream Kai left us prepared for everything. Nigel and Jayne made sure the house had everything from a first aid kit to flashlights to appliances to children's toys and necessities. We were in walking distance to the beach, restaurants, gift shops, and the dock for the boat ride. We had kayaks at the house to kayak out of the cove and into the Caribbean ocean where we were also supplied snorkel gear from the house to go snorkeling as much as we wanted! I will definitely be recommending Dream Kai and hope I get the opportunity to return!

Awesome beach house, island, and activities

    • Guest Tim (Charlotte, NC)

Description was 100% completely accurate. Owners are very organized with planning and details and directions. You will find they strive for excellence, and deliver. The townhouse/beach house is in great shape with all the comforts of home. Well equipped kitchen (pots, pans, tools, plates, bowls, cups, fun colorful tumblers, herbs & seasonings, basics+, etc). Big comfy beds (super king, 2 doubles, & pullout couch) and bedding. Lots of seating options. Lots of recreational supplies (toys, chairs, floats, coolers, etc) and some snorkel gear (but I always recommend having your own just in case). The community pool is excellent - 3 to 6ft deep & WARM! Loved that. Nice, functional, and flowing layout - especially when the 2 triple sliding glass doors to the lanai are opened up. Gentle breezes were enough for us most of the time. Bioluminescent Bay is really unique. Totally surprised by the abundance of Cassiopia and fish there, as well as the neat night-time effect (have adequate "skeeter" protection). Just be careful to preserve the area and don't touch anything. There are Kayak tours that cost $50 pp to see what you can for free by staying here. Location - far away from the hustle & bustle, but walking distance to Rum Point. I do recommend checking out 7 mile beach @ the new big public beach area because it is so nice too. Snorkeling on Grand Cayman is better than most Caribbean islands. And scuba diving too. Saw huge Rainbow Parrotfish, stingrays, spotted eagle rays, and green sea turtles here. Lots of beautiful fish. Get a reef fish book and you will be able to check-off most all of the pretty ones here. Red Sail Sports (at Rum Point) glass-bottom boat to Stingray Sandbar is excellent. Go more than once if you have the opportunity (we went twice, but would have gone a third time had we had another day). The two of us had a fun & relaxing 11 nights celebrating our anniversary here, and look forward to returning as soon as we can. Thanks!

    Amazing vacation!

    • Guest Simon (Montréal, Canada)

We had the best time at this beautiful house! Everything is so clean, nice that the pictures really don't do the house justice. This was our first time in Cayman Islands and we will go back someday! Everything was perfect, the house, the beach, the pool, and of course the weather. We were two couples with 3 small kids and the house is very well equipped to handle young children. If you have a car, spend time at the seven mile beach, the beach is really beautiful. Rum Point:There is no better place to chill, relax, snorkel, catch the boat to Sting Ray City or just have a great Mud Slide. Star Fish Point: Close to home, you can see starfish and without paying We want to thank Nigel and Jayne for all of their help and information regarding the home and the island. It really is a great place to stay !!!

    Best vacation ever!!!!

    • Guest Angela (United States)

I don't think the photos of the home do the place justice. The view of the water was beautiful! Located on the bay, with a large screened in porch. There is also a dining table and lounge chairs on the porch- perfect for eating, reading a book or just relaxing. The house was spotlessly clean and there was a fresh vase of flowers right on the table. The amenities in the house met all of our needs - lots of fresh linens & towels, all kitchen appliances & gadgets (blender, coffee maker, etc.) lots of cleaning supplies, washer and dryer and a charcoal grill. Also, the wireless internet worked perfectly. TV, DVD player, books, bikes, kayaks, extra beach toys, and the list goes on and on. The owners have thought of everything. Location, location, location. We drove all over the island, and I'd have to say this house has the best location right at Rum Point - stay here if you are looking for an amazing beach to relax at or if you are an active water lover, you'll love the clear turquoise water full of aquatic life. The house has a beautiful pool with lounge chairs and tables, it was never crowded, I spent many a hour reading and floating in the pool. Another big plus is that it's also located near an outfitter called Red Sail Sports, (trip to stingray city, and snorkeling, a must!!!), a restaurant, along with hammocks, lounge chairs, etc. . Booking with Nigel & Jayne was a breeze and they are so helpful.

    Paradise Found!

    • Guest Barbara (Williamsville, NY)

This was our first trip to the Caymans and we had a wonderful time. Everything about Dream Kai and its location was just as it was represented on the website. The reservation process was easy and smooth. Nigel and Jayne were very helpful and offered wonderful information and tips prior to our arrival. Dream Kai was clean, spacious, comfortable and well furnished. We appreciated the linens, beach towels and basic kitchen supplies….makes it so much easier when one is flying in not to have pack all that as well. And having in house laundry facilites was wonderful. The beautiful and peaceful location was just what we hoped for. We felt immediately at home in Dream Kai … we hated to leave! The beautiful scenery and peacefulness of the property and cove put us in vacation mode right away. We loved spending time on the lanai! We enjoyed meals there, relaxing on the lounge chairs reading, sipping a glass of wine and just looking at the beauty of the scenery while letting all our cares go. We put the bikes, 2-person kayak and snorkeling gear to good use. It was wonderful to have those to available to use. We were ‘beginners’ with the kayak and snorkeling but took to both right away. The bioluminescence in the cove was amazing…so unique! The location of Dream Kai is so convenient. Its so close to Rum Point Beach which was wonderful… just a brief walk and there we were! Having the lounge chairs and hammocks right on the beach was wonderful…being able to snorkel right off the beach was awesome…best beach we’ve ever been to. We went to Star Fish Point ...again just up the road...and saw a number of starfish and a sea urchin. We enjoyed the Kaibo Yacht Club ...just up the road...and their Mudslides. We had an amazing time swimming with the stingrays with Red Sail Sports (they are located right at Rum Point Beach)...something we will never forget. We enjoyed some other activities on other parts of the island as well. We enjoyed the Natilus submarine ride, horseback riding on the beach, checked out 7 mile beach, West Bay and so much more. As you can see I could go on and on about all the wonderful things we did and the amazing time we had. We enjoyed the North End the best. It's away from the 'humb-bub' and so relaxing and peaceful. We so enjoyed our time at Dream Kai and the Caymans that we are already talking about making a return trip and we have only been home 4 days!

    Heaven on Earth!

    • Guest Elyse and Tom (Riverwoods, Illinois)

For this, our first trip to the Cayman Islands, we could not have picked a more perfect accommodation. Dream Kai - Island House #15 - proved ideal as a clean, modern, and well-equipped home. Living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room with great lanai on first floor and two bedrooms, each with a full bath, on the second floor, provided spacious living quarters. Rum Point, just across the street, has snorkeling, swimming, sandwich shop and bar. Red Sail Sports has an outlet at Rum Point and they were so friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to book a Stingray City/snorkeling excursion through Red Sail Sports which leaves from Rum Point. You are literally in the water swimming with the 3-4 foot stingrays and they will eat the squid right out of your hands. A great place to go snorkeling on your own was Babylon Reef (remember your snorkel gear and water shoes!) Amazing fish! Each morning we kayaked across the cove and out into the North Sound. It was one of the most spectacular views on the island, morning or at sunset. There is a swimming pool on the premises and we were lucky to have the entire beach to ourselves all week - so beautiful and relaxing! We also recommend biking over to Kaibo Yacht Club for a mudslide, as well as the Tuesday night caribeean barbecue and live band. The owners provided a ton of recommendations which were consistently spot on! Don't miss Over the Edge Restaurant, one of our favorities. We had a fabulous time, the only complaint we had is that one week was just too short. We certainly look forward to returning to Dream Kai.

    Wonderfull family vacation

    • Guest Agnes (NJ)

That was excellent vacation. We traveled with 3 children ages from 3,5,8. Dream Kai house is beautifull, clean and includes everything you may need for preparing meals. Rum Point beach is just there with so short walk it felt like no distance at all. Rum Point beach is everything wat family with children my want. You can buy good food in the bar , the portions are big and very tasty. We took walks along beach and if you walk 500 meters you will find yourself on so serene beach that you feel like it belongs to Eden. You can walk 100 meters into the water and it still will be up to your knees. We did kayaking and you have to see the bioluminescence water in the bay by the house, I never saw anything like this. We visited the Stingray City and did snorkeling , we recommend it . Worth to do. Over all there is no negative thing I could say, our stay was wonderful , everything was ready for our comming and all instruction given by owners accurate and very helpfull. Thank you very much , we had such a good time and we recommend the property.

    Great Place!!!

    • Guest Amy (Hinsdale, IL)

What an excellent week we had at Dream Kai! The listing was just as described. The owners were incredibly helpful with providing information about the house, island, car rental, restaurants! House was perfect. Loved how the sliding doors opened to the screened in porch! Having the kayaks, bikes, snorkel equipment was a huge bonus. This place is steps away from Rum Point which is the perfect mix of fun and relaxation, but not overly touristy. Being right on the bay was a bonus. All four of my children will list the bioluminescence as a major highlight of the trip-INCREDIBLE! Other fav activities were snorkeling, many great restaurants, fishing (and grilling our catch), sunset cruise by Red Sail Sports, Turtle farm. Could not do Sting Ray City due to rare high winds on the day of our planned trip-dissapointing, but appreciate the very friendly staff at Red Sail Sports doing what they could to try to get us out there, but ultimately keeping our safety in mind and canceling.

    A Piece of Paradise!

    • Guest Mike & Susie (Lakewood, CO)

We stayed at Dream Kai for 8 nights, just after Thanksgiving. We had 4 adults, so we flipped a coin for the master bedroom. We were so pleased that we chose the north side of the island for our first trip and Dream Kai was like paradise! It was every bit as nice as the pictures and more. Our only complaint was that construction was in progress at the condo next door, and the workers were noisy. This particular week, the whole property was vacant of guests, so we had the pool and lagoon all to ourselves, except for the iguanas. Dream Kai was fully stocked with essentials, including cooking, laundry and coffee supplies, beach towels, kayaks & snorkel gear. We recommend stopping near the airport for groceries, since the local market was quite pricy. We will come back to Dream Kai, the first chance we get!
