If you want to take a walk, ride a bike, take a kayak ride in your own cove, go to the pool or beach you just have to walk out your front or back door (which is on ground level). The fresh water pool is just out your back door and the Famous "Rum Point Beach" is only 150 feet out your front door across the street. You don't have to walk down a long hallway, wait for the elevator, walk through a crowded lobby. Where would you get a bicycle at a hotel anyway? The kitchen, lanai and gas grill is a great feature for vacationer tired from a full day of activity. It also is a great money-saver compared to the cost of eating three meals a day in restaurants.

It works like this. The big-name luxury hotels and resorts are owned by large corporations that have big marketing budgets to keep their occupancy up and price their rooms accordingly. The non-luxury hotels are owned by smaller corporations that can charge you less, but offer you little.
